Where Passion Meets Performance — Four Decades of Musical Excellence

From first notes to standing ovations, we've been shaping musicians of all ages in Waterford and the Southeast since 1984.

Welcome to SETU Music School. We have been leading music education in Waterford and the Southeast for over forty years. We aim to be an inclusive center of excellence for performance-based music education for children and adults which values access, quality and developing the whole musical learner.

SETU Music School endeavors to engage and nurture one’s love of music, fostering a life-long passion for music making. With individual and group tuition available, combined with our award winning choral and instrumental ensembles, we offer a music education to suit all interests and ages.

Our orchestras and ensembles provide students of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to grow as musicians in a supportive, dynamic group setting. From beginner string players to advanced performers, each ensemble focuses on building technique, confidence, and a love of making music together through regular rehearsals, workshops, and live performances.

Build strong musical foundations with confidence

Our Musicianship programme combines music theory with practical learning to help students develop a deeper understanding of music. Progressing through structured levels, students enhance their listening, creativity, and performance skills alongside their instrumental or vocal studies in a supportive and engaging environment.

A fun and engaging introduction to music for young learners

Kids Club Music introduces children to the fundamentals of music through play-based learning, including songs, movement, and percussion. Designed to nurture creativity and early musical development, the programme also supports important skills such as coordination, teamwork, listening, and confidence.

Prepare for success in Leaving Certificate Music

This two-year course supports students in mastering the Listening and Composition elements of the Leaving Certificate Music curriculum. Guided by an experienced teacher, students build the knowledge and skills needed to achieve strong results while complementing their practical performance studies.

Nurturing young voices to achieve excellence and confidence

The SETU Choral Programme is one of the most dynamic in Ireland, nurturing thousands of talented young singers since its foundation. In a fun, engaging environment, members develop musical, creative and performance skills. Our aim is to help children achieve high artistic standards through choral singing while building confidence, teamwork, and a positive, aspirational character.
